E3 Trailer Roundup
Has it already been two weeks since E3? The coverage doesn’t stop! Here are the trailers that were shown at E3 that get me excited. Beware, not much game play footage below. Hit the break for the videos.
Hitman: Absolution. Easily one of the games I am looking forward to the most. Agent 47 makes quick work of a few guards before getting to what we can suspect is his target. I have always been a fan of the Hitman series so this one is a no brainer for me. The game play footage doesn’t look bad either. Looking forward to seeing more in the future.
Assassins Creed: Revelations. There were times during the wide angle shots that I thought this might be live action. An incredible trailer for a series that ages like a fine wine. I wonder why Ubisoft isn’t making movies. They are clearly capable of it and would probably make some decent coin at the box office. I would watch an Assassins Creed movie if it looked like this.
Tomb Raider. I am really digging the new look of Lara Croft. A little less cartoony from what we are so used too. Or are we just used to Tomb Raider games being bad? The game play footage looked pretty decent at E3 but this trailer sells the game for me. I’m easy like that.
Saints Row The Third. I haven’t played the first two. I’ve heard everything from it being a GTA rip off to being absurdly fun. From what I understand this the series is no longer a direct clone. The trailers coming out for it have got me interested in trying it out this time around. Easily one of the top five trailers from the show.
Star Wars: The Old Republic. I’m pretty sure the game doesn’t play like the intro cinematic might lead you to believe. It is still very very cool. I often wish Bioware was behind an animated television series. Anything better than the pulp Lucas currently pumps out. Actually the action sequence in this short clip is better than anything in the prequels. True story. However, as cool as this looks I don’t think it will get me to play a MMORPG.
Overstrike. Is this the only interesting non-sequel at the show? Maybe not but it almost feels like it. Over-the-top and very tongue in cheek. Shows nothing of game play but that is how we like our teaser trailers.
Brothers in Arms: Furious 4. Quick and full of fun Nazi killing. I’m not sold but I did enjoy the teaser.
Metro: Last Light. I do not know a whole lot about Metro. I hear the last one was a cult hit. These trailers are really catching my interest.
Star Trek. Not the prettiest trailer. It’s all pre-alpha game play footage. So it is a little rough around the edges. Even so, an action packed Star Trek game? Sold.
Farcry 3. This is the only play through of the post. Because it is awesome. I especially like the monologue on insanity. This game looks like a whole lot of fun. I didn’t like Farcry 2, so I am really hoping the game play is a lot better.
